I’ve been visiting San Antonio ever since I can remember. It’s been so many times, I’ve really stopped counting. This city has been a frequented destination for my family because it’s not that far from home (Monterrey, Mexico), and it offers exquisite shopping and exciting activities for all of the family.
Of all my visits, this hotel’s my favorite so far by far!
La Cantera Resort & Spa is located in the heart of Texas Hill Country,
offering luxury and tranquility, as well as breathtaking views like no other in the city.
All about my stay ahead!
The hotel is situated far from the city center buzz, but is close enough to top attractions, and activities available in San Antonio. So you really get the best of both worlds here: marvellous views, and closeness to outings such as Six Flags and The Shops at La Cantera.
Address: 16641 La Cantera Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78256
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by hotel staff who gave us a warm welcome, and opened the doors for us to go do the check in. The doors opened and we were immediately mesmerised by the modern elegance and decor. The lobby welcomes you in with it’s homey feel, take a look:
We then proceeded to the desk and did the check in, which was really efficient. The friendly lady informed us about restaurant and spa schedules, hotel shuttle service to attractions nearby, and other additional information before we were accompanied to our room.
Food was definitely another feature. Breakfast at Sweetfire Kitchen had both a menu, and a buffet filled with options for everyone. I especially remember the bacon being extraordinary, as well as the pancakes. If anything, the coffee could’ve definitely being better.
And if ever you found yourself in a hurry, Henrietta’s Market had you covered with it’s grab and go snacks. If you wished to stay there for a light snack, you could do so as well; the space was comfortable and even had a terrace to enjoy the food outside. The space from the inside looked like this:
LOMA DE VIDA SPA & WELLNESS
The photo featured right above is the view from the outside. Just getting to the Spa is a relaxing experience on its own. There’s a water fountain, plants, and a color palette beyond soothing. But just wait and seat tight because the inside surely takes the cake!
First off, the waiting room: a place where you begin to experience the calmness before your masseuse arrives to get you for your massage.
Here you’ll find a modern fireplace, a seating area, books, a terrace with incredible views, and a snack bar with water, tea, and apples.
My absolute favorite space in the entire spa is the women’s solarium. A space to seat back, take a quick dip, do some reading, writing, thinking, and relaxing. I mean – it even has it’a own fireplace!
The pool featured in the image below is inside the Spa as well, although the hotel has other pool areas available for all guests; 5 pools to be exact!
Although I didn’t snap any photos of the room (my bad), I can say it was really comfortable. Large bed, desk, terrace, TV, and bathroom. The resort offers different kinds of rooms, if you’re looking into more details click here.
The resort has everything you may need for a complete Texas vacation. With 9 restaurants and bars, you’ll never run out of options to eat, 5 pools to find the perfect chill spot for your party, 2 golf courses, 1 tennis court, 1 Spa, an arcade, and so much more.
BOOK THIS RESORT IF YOU…
If you’re looking for a luxurious stay and are expecting to spend significant time in the hotel. If you’re looking for a place to stay, but are planning to leave early in the morning and return late at night, this option might be a bit pricey. To fully enjoy the resort features, you should take some time to spend at the hotel.
Book a room at La Cantera Resort & Spa if you love to eat delicious and complete meals, have various options, appreciate top notch service, and are looking for green spaces, excellent pools, and a great holiday together with friends or family.
