A vacation at Nizuc Resort & Spa grants a hideaway full of luxury, comfort, and pampering. There’s something really special about Nizuc; a familiar and tranquil vibe, palpable since the moment you arrive. The friendly staff, the elegant and modern mayan decoration, and the privacy is all good on its own, but the exceptional service, and tranquility you’ll submerge in seals the deal.
Out of all hotels in Cancún, México, Nizuc Resort & Spa is the newest, situated in Punta Nizuc, just a short 15 minute drive away from the the airport. Living up to its 5-star distinction, the resort has already been named by Condé Nast Traveler one of the Best New Hotels in the World in 2014, by Fodor’s one of the Top 100 Hotels in the World, also in 2014, and was included in Travel + Leisure’s List: Best New Hotels in 2014 as well.
Checking in was efficient and a pleasant experience. From the moment we got off our transport, a member of the staff approached us, and offered to helped with our luggage. We then walked to the front desk to check in, where we were greeted by another staff member who offered us each a bottle of Fiji water. Attention to detail is high on Nizuc’s priority list. After checking in, we were accompanied by an employee around the hotel so we could know our way around for our stay, and once we were done, he took us back to the Lobby, where we hopped on a buggy and were driven to our room.
The hotel overall has 274 deluxe suites and magnificent villas scattered over 12 hectares of lush vegetation. The rooms are equipped with large terraces offering marvellous tropical garden views, or scenes of the the vast blue caribbean ocean. Some rooms even include their own private pool, and they all have exclusive bath tubs to submerge in complete tranquility.
The room I had a chance to stay in this spring was a deluxe ocean view double suite, and was everything, and more than I expected. It even had a Nespresso machine! SCORE!
Take a look at the room:
Every afternoon by the time I arrived to the room, there was a bag of homemade chocolates on a tray up on the bed. It’s no surprise attention to detail is high in the hotel’s priority list; everything about our stay was luxurious and just perfect.
THE BATHTUB – MY OWN PRIVATE SANCTUARY
Nizuc very well knows how to make relaxation such a luxury. After a day at the beach sunbathing, nothing suites best than a long and warm bubble-bath. Oh, and did I mention all shampoo, conditioner, body gels, and hand creams are supplied from Loccitane? Again, SCORE!
Nizuc Resort & Spa has the best hotel facilities and features. For instance, check this special sitting area surrounded by nature! Unlike any other, this hotel offers a variety of tranquil areas to spend the evening, and given the hotel’s size, it’s granted you’ll find a spot away from the crowds, even during high season.
The dock is one of my favourite features from Nizuc, specially at dusk!
Another of my favourite spots at Nizuc!
If you’re into the idea of a gastronomic vacation, Nizuc is also the right place for you. It has 6 world class restaurants, making it the region’s premier culinary destination, each offering a variety of unique gourmet cuisines.
If you ask me, you can’t leave without having dinner at Indochine or Ramona, they’re both so different, and SO delicious. Indochine is an asian inspired restaurant led by chef Sergio Ichikawa, and is set just beside calm waters and a zen atmosphere. Ramona, on the other hand, offers a mexican gourmet menu to die for, and has tranquil ocean views.
At the beach or pool you can order anything from the menu to eat and drink, like this special piña colada! YUM!
An outdoor breakfast is hard to beat! I recommend purchasing the breakfast buffet along with the room fare, it’s just a bit extra, but the cost is very well worth it. The breakfast buffet is served at El Café de la Playa, and offers everything one might crave to eat in the morning, and you get to fuel up before an exciting day whether you stay in or head out!
There are few hotels I’ve been to that excel in service quite like Nizuc did. Everything we needed, we had. There was a butler per building 24 hours a day, always at the front door in case someone came downstairs, and needed anything. Given the hotel’s property extends for 12 hectares, people were transported in buggy’s – and again, there was always someone ready to drive customers 24/7 to either the main lobby, where people could walk to the pool/beach areas, bars and several restaurants, or to other areas a bit further away from the Lobby like the Spa, tennis courts, and some other restaurants.
BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU…
If you’re looking for a luxurious gateway, and want to be pampered with exceptional food, drinks, and are looking to unwind in a calm environment, surrounded by peace and quiet. Whether you’re planning a family vacation or a romantic escape with your significant other, this is the right place for you. There’re pool and beach areas for families, and others just for adults, as there are for both, so Nizuc is a place for everyone.
All photos and opinions shared are all my own! Thanks Nizuc for a wonderful vacation!
